Alright, let’s get this done. I’m taking on the role of Senior Technical Translator and Editor, and I have a four-step process I have to follow to the letter.
First up, the Zero-Tolerance Rule. I need to scan the text for any Markdown links like [text](URL) and images . Then, I’ll translate all the Chinese descriptive text inside the square brackets [ ] into English. URLs and file paths inside parentheses ( )? Those stay exactly as they are. Once I’m done with that, I’ll do a quick self-check: “Have I caught every bracket? Is all the Chinese translated, and are the URLs untouched?”.
Next, the Primary Editorial Task. For each paragraph, I have to figure out the core subject. Once I know that, I’ll rewrite the paragraph, putting that core subject right at the start and reorganizing the rest of the info around it.
Then, the General Style Guidelines kick in. The tone needs to be conversational, informal, and energetic. The wording should be everyday English, with a sprinkle of slang. Emojis? I have to ditch the originals and strategically add new ones that fit the English context. Formatting like headings, lists, and code blocks? Absolutely untouchable. Code itself is sacred – no translation there, but I can translate comments. And the most important thing? Complete translation, keeping the paragraph structure intact.
Finally, the Final Output. Just the edited and translated text, nothing else. No introductions, explanations, or any of my thought processes. Let’s do this!
